HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Okay, all you mom's out there. My little guy is having some bowel problems and my doctor wants to give him a prescription. I feel really uncomfortable giving my 6 month old a prescription drug. Do ANY of you have any recommendations that are a little safer...a little more natural? He is averaging a BM maybe once a week and it's SO sad. The weird thing is he still is mainly breastfed. Weird huh?? I feed him solids just once in the evening.

I NEED HELP!!!!

First off, I am offended by your request for mothers only. So, I am answering your question just because I am Father who knows (becuase my wife told me). Our kids always have issues until they start on solid foods. We mixed in prune juice into their bottles (pump!) and fed them a lot of prune babyfood. Also, we gave them a suppository every couple of days. Don't know that Jane ever pooped on her own till she went on solid food.

Next time try asking fathers...

I hate to admit it but Mark is right. Or water down some pear juice or white grape and give him that. Kid needs some fiber to get the system working. also lay him on his back and bicycle his legs. that sometimes helps. now if someone could just tell me how to keep clothes on a almost 2 year old!

SORRY!!!! Mothers AND FATHERS, I need your help. So, I'm confused though....mix the juice with breastmilk????? I will have to try this...if I'm understanding correctly. The bicycle thing doesn't work. We do this about 10 times a day.

I have to agree w/ the prune juice. That always helps Avarie. Kashton is SO CUTE Beth!!!

either give him prune juice or prune baby food. He is old enough for both. If he hates that try to water down some pear juice in a bottle for him. You don't need to mix the prune juice with the milk. Thats just nasty!

We had to use a suppository on Abi once...so sad, but it worked like a charm. Also, her pediatrician recommended that we mix in a little Karo syrup with some water and give it to her in a bottle (2 oz water, a drop or two of karo). I don't know if that helped her at all, but she liked the sweet taste.

Hey Bethany! It's Katie (Golden). I agree with everyone on the juice. We've had the same problem with Gage. Any kind of juice worked with him. Good luck! (Oh, and I added your blog link to mine . . . hope that's okay!)
